Avrei usato qualche debole scusa
(Me ne sarei venuto fuori con qualche scusa)

I politici (?) mi prendono in giro...

NOTE:

Allo stesso modo, accanto al verso "So I pulled up stakes and ... for broke", Dylan ha segnato altre parole "promemoria": "focus", "I focused"

(4) Come risulta evidente, in questa stesura di "Idiot Wind" manca completamente il ritornello ("Idiot wind, blowin' every time you move your mouth...").

IDIOT WIND
words and music Bob Dylan

... and it turned one sweet day into a ragin'storm
The priest wore black on the 7th day
And waltzed around a slopin' floor
What you began , you couldn't finish
And tilted (?) your hat (?) to me
You could [you thought she was a party doll
You
(You feel for) her personality and I was ... just along for the ride
A hound dog bayed beyond the trees
As I was packin' up my uniform
I'd just met her at the Red X Store (?)
That's not the way it happened, madam (?)
I thought you were someone else
It must've been the mask you wore

I figured (I supposed) I've lost you anyway
(Why go on (1) - fan (?) the five (?)
There would be just your voice and mine
(Tryin' to touch ... live (?)
You must think I'm someone else / I never saw your face
I didn't called you for days and days, ... it won't ...
(It must've been because you were hard to reach)
I knew what we were going to say
But I hadn't memorized my part of the speech
(Creepers across the rooftops, jumpin'
I figured I lost you anyway
So I pulled up stakes and ... for broke)
It didn't strike me very funny.

We didnt' speak for days and days, it must've been the cats had got our tongue
They put me on a pedestal (?)
Filled me up with beans and coke
And when I lost you babe it all came clear that...
And I figured I lost you anyway
And that you thought it all a joke
But it didn't strike me very funny.

I thought you were hypnotized ... But you thought it was something I ... care
For I figured I lost you anyway
So then what be the use I was open (?) and you were loose
In order to get ... to you,
I'd have to use some lame excuse
(I'd ... have to come up with some excuse
It d... - (It just struck me kind of funny)
I didn't call you for days and days and it wasn't 'cause cat had got my tongue
(We hadn't talk for ...
I didn't talk for days and days and it wasn't 'cause the cat had got my tongue
It was just that everything I said was ... and ... when the rains came

We didn't talk for days and days, the words were gone
It ain't my fault nobody ever took the time to teach me
taught me how to forgive (?)
Politicians (?) take me for a fool
